COMPTON COMMUNITY PANTRY (CURE)
Citizens Coalition for Change, Compton is in full support of the Compton United Response Effort (CURE) which is organized under the auspices of Compton Mayor's office and managed under the leadership of Compton Chamber of Commerce. This mission critical operation serves our community, and feeds the people of the region in need.
We closely monitor the ongoing developments in our region as it pertains to COVID-19 (coronavirus), and continue to work with the Compton Chamber of Commerce, the City officials and our community partners to ensure that everyone in our community has access to food.
COMBATING ILLEGAL DISPENSARIES
In January 2016, Compton voters overwhelmingly rejected the two ballot measures that would have legalized local sales. This tension – between state-level support for use and city-level opposition to sales – is at the heart of the battle over marijuana that is happening in Compton, as the city tries to move on from a painful history scarred by illegal drugs.
Citizens Coalition for Change, Compton spearheads this worthwhile effort.
