The area along the 91 freeway already falls in the 90th percentile and above for poor air quality in the state of California. Studies have linked particle pollution exposure to a variety of problems, including premature death in people with heart or lung disease, aggravated asthma and decreased lung function. Children and older adults are the most likely to be affected by particle pollution exposure.
The life expectancy of the community in this region is 2nd shortest in California, and asthma related hospitalizations for children under 18 is 2nd most of all neighboring zip codes according to the 2019 LBDHHS Community Health Assessment.
This project has a build, and no build option. The build option will negatively affect the health of the residents of this area.
Please check out the proposed project in terms of protecting the health of the residents of the affected area.
